Row history and the History player

See every change to a table row in the Viewer's detail drawer, and replay a table's changes on the map with the History player for Historical movement layers.

Two ways to look back in time

Every create, update and delete on a table row is kept in a change log next to the row. The Viewer reads that log in two places:

  • Row history: the History section of the detail drawer. It's there for every data-link record that comes from a table, with nothing to set up.
  • History player: a play bar at the bottom of the map that replays a table's changes. It only appears for a data link whose look is set to Historical movement.

Row history in the drawer

Click a data-link point whose layer reads from a table, for example a marker from an Environmental sensors table. The drawer's History section lists every recorded change to that row, newest first.

  • Each entry shows Created, Updated or Deleted, a relative and an exact time ("2 hours ago · Oct 9, 2026, 2:05 PM") and how many fields changed ("3 fields").
  • Click an entry to see each field's value before and after. The newest entry is open already.
  • Created entries are green with a plus, updates use your accent colour with a pencil, deletions are red with a bin icon.
You seeMeaning
"Loading history…"The changes are being fetched.
"No changes recorded yet."Nothing has been written to the row since its history started.
"No field-level changes recorded."The row was written again with the same values.
A red messageThe history couldn't be loaded. Close and reopen the drawer.

Turn on the History player

The player replays a table's changes for a layer that draws points at coordinates. If none of the facility's data links use it yet, add a layer for it:

  1. 1
Create a data link on a table

In the editor, open Data → Manage data links and add a link whose source is a table with coordinates, such as an Environmental sensors table with temperature and humidity readings. See Data links.

  2. 2
    Choose Historical movement

Under Choose how it looks on the map, pick Historical movement ("Scrub through the table's change log with a bottom-of-map player"). It can only be picked when the source is a table. The Data links list shows this mode as History player.

  3. 3
    Open the Viewer

Click Preview. The player appears at the bottom of the map and loads the last 24 hours.

There's nothing to switch on in the Viewer. The bar shows whenever a Historical movement layer is visible, and if you hide the last one in the Layers panel, the bar disappears and playback stops.

The player's controls

ControlWhat it does
LayerWhich Historical movement layer to replay, if there's more than one. Defaults to the first.
WindowLast hour, Last 24h (default), Last 7 days or Last 30 days, counted back from the moment it loads. Changing it reloads up to 5,000 changes.
Event countHow many changes were loaded, e.g. "1,078 evts". A spinner shows while loading, and errors show here in red.
RewindJumps back to the start of the window.
Play / PausePlays forward until the end of the window. Press Play at the end to start over.
TimelineDrag to jump to any moment.
SpeedHow much recorded time passes per second: 15s/s, 1m/s (default), 5m/s or 30m/s. At 1m/s a 24-hour window takes 24 minutes, and at 30m/s it takes 48 seconds.
StopEnds the replay and puts the map back to live data. Change the window or layer to load the history again.

The bottom row shows the start of the window, the current moment with a percentage, and the end of the window.

What the map shows during a replay

  • Playback starts paused at the beginning of the window.
  • Each record that changed inside the window is drawn as it was at the moment shown. Records deleted by then disappear, and records with no change inside the window aren't drawn.
  • Every visible data link that reads the same table follows the replay, not just the Historical movement layer.
  • The window doesn't move on its own. Leave the page open for an hour and "Last 24h" still ends when it was loaded, so switch the window to reload it.
  • The drawer's row history and the player don't affect each other. Scrubbing doesn't change an open drawer, and closing the drawer doesn't stop playback.
