Custom RFID and warehouse software development, connected to a live indoor map

Besides building Spatial Map — browser-based indoor mapping and 3D digital twin software — our team builds custom software for operations teams: Android apps for rugged RFID handhelds, inventory back offices, and integrations between your devices, your ERP or WMS and the map. Every screen on these pages is an example of a custom app, not part of the Spatial Map product.

Spatial Map: no credit card for the trial, runs in the browser, Pro is $60/month for up to 4 facilities. Explore the live demo

Example inventory back office: accuracy, open counts, variance and devices online, count progress by zone, a 12-week accuracy trend and recent counts from handhelds.
Example Android RFID handheld app: a cycle count of one aisle with 1,842 of 1,910 units counted, matched, over and not-found totals, and progress per bin.

Works with hardware from

Zebra, Chainway, SATO and Sanray are trademarks of their respective owners. Spatial Map is not affiliated with or endorsed by them; we integrate with devices our clients already own using the vendors’ SDKs and APIs.

Product and project, kept apart

The product is Spatial Map: floor plans in 3D, live data from tables, REST sources and file uploads, data links, reports and share links — the same for every customer, on a monthly or yearly plan.

A project is software we write for one client around it: the handheld app your team counts with, the back office your supervisors approve counts in, the connector that talks to your readers and your ERP. There is no Spatial Map mobile app: the Spatial Map product is a web app. The apps and back offices on these pages are custom software we build for a client, and every screen shown here is an example.

Features the product doesn’t have — built for you

Some requests are deliberately not product features. When a client needs them, we build them as part of a custom project, in the client’s own app or service:

  • Notifications and escalation — Spatial Map has no built-in alerting; a custom service can watch your rows and notify the right people.
  • Positioning — Spatial Map does not compute positions from BLE signal strength; a project can connect the RTLS or positioning engine you choose and write its coordinates to the map.
  • Tag encoding and printing — print-and-encode workflows on your label printers, with every EPC recorded.
  • Write-back to your ERP or WMS — approved counts, receipts and adjustments posted to the system of record.

How a project starts

Projects start the same way as our indoor mapping services: send a short brief — the workflow, the devices, the systems involved, a floor plan if the map is part of it — we confirm the scope on a call, and you get a written proposal with scope, milestones and price. Spatial Map itself can be live on your floor plan before the custom work is finished.

What we build

Three kinds of custom work, usually combined in one project.

How it connects

How the pieces fit together

  1. 01

    Devices

RFID handhelds, fixed readers, gates, printers and BLE gateways you own — see hardware.

  2. 02

    Custom apps

Handheld apps and edge services built on the vendors’ SDKs and APIs.

  3. 03

    Back office

Counts, variance, receiving, assets and devices for supervisors.

  4. 04

    ERP / WMS

The system of record: expected stock in, approved results out.

  5. 05

    Spatial Map

Rows through the table write API → live map, reports and share links.

Custom software development — frequently asked questions

No. Spatial Map is a web app that runs in the browser. The handheld apps shown on these pages are custom software we build for individual clients; they send their results to Spatial Map and to the client’s own systems.

They are examples of the kind of apps we build, made with fictional data. They are not part of the Spatial Map product, and each client’s app is designed around its own workflow.

Most projects connect to a live Spatial Map of the facility, because that is where the results are easiest to see. Tell us what you need and we will say plainly whether the map belongs in it.

Per project, from a written proposal with scope and milestones. Spatial Map itself stays on its normal plan: a 7-day free trial, then Pro at $60 a month or $600 a year for up to 4 facilities.

Android handhelds and readers whose vendor publishes an SDK, plus fixed readers, gates and printers with a documented API or network output — see hardware we integrate.

Tell us the workflow. We’ll build the app around it.

Share what your team does on the floor today, the devices and systems involved, and a floor plan. We will reply with a scoped proposal — and a live map of your facility.
