Show and hide layers

The Layers button in the tool rail opens a list of switches, one per kind of shape: Racks / grids, Markers, Circles, Polygons, Aisles / lines, Routes / paths, Floor plans, 3D models, Image planes, Text labels, Stairs & lifts and Doors. Turn one off to check the others in isolation. Nothing is deleted; it only changes what the map draws.

To hide a single shape instead of a whole kind, use the eye on its row in the side panel’s lists (Racks, Areas, Floor plans, …).

Change what draws on top

With nothing selected, the side panel’s Layers section lists the layers in drawing order: "Drag to reorder. Top of the list draws on top of the map." The order is saved for the facility.

Default order, top to bottomNotes
AssetsAlways on top (marked TOP) and can’t be moved.
Image planes, 3D modelsPlaced objects.
StairsSolid steps above the flat shapes.
Routes, Aisles & walls, Areas, CirclesThe shapes you draw most.
RacksUsually the largest filled areas.
Floor plansThe backdrop, almost always at the bottom.

Work one floor at a time

A facility can stack several floor plans at the same spot, each at its own elevation (see Add a floor plan to the map). Two controls keep multi-storey work tidy.

  1. 1
Pin the floor you’re drawing on

Click the pin, Default floor plan for new shapes, in the tool rail. Pick a floor plan, or "No default (leave unassigned)". "New shapes drawn from now on will be pinned to this floor plan," and they start at its elevation. The button then shows the floor’s first letter (for example G for Ground Floor). The choice is remembered per facility in this browser. With no floor plans yet it says "Draw a floor plan first to pick one here."

  2. 2
    Hide the other floors

In the side panel’s Floor plans list, click the eye on every floor except the one you’re working on. Shapes on a hidden floor hide with it. Lifts and escalators stay visible while any floor they serve is shown.

  3. 3
Fix shapes drawn on the wrong floor

Select them and use Assign selection in the tool rail (or Change floor for a mixed selection) to move them to the right floor plan.

The order of the Floor plans list matters too: the top floor is the Default shown first in Preview and in shared views. How visitors switch floors is covered in Floors in the viewer.

Change the map style

Change map style in the tool rail swaps the map underneath your drawing. Your shapes stay put; only the background changes. The editor remembers your choice in this browser.

StyleGood for
StandardThe default: a balanced map for everyday work.
Standard SimpleLess map detail, so your drawing stands out.
Light, Monochrome LightBright, quiet backgrounds for exports and print.
Dark, Monochrome DarkControl rooms and always-on screens.
DuskA darker, atmospheric look for presentations.
StreetsWhen road names and street context matter.

Share links can set their own map style; see Share link appearance.

Graphics quality

The side panel’s Graphics quality section holds display settings for this browser. They don’t change the facility for anyone else.
