Show and hide layers in the Viewer
Use the Viewer's Layers panel to hide shape kinds, list and zoom to items, and switch data-link layers off for your visit or turn them off for everyone.
What the Layers panel does
The Layers pill sits in the Viewer's top-right stack and reads "Layers (visible/total)". On the Retail Mart Store demo, with everything visible, it reads Layers (11/11). Click it to open a panel in two parts. Shape kinds come first, then the facility's data-link layers, grouped by type.
Shape kinds
The panel only lists kinds that have at least one shape on the floors you're viewing. On a floor with no markers or 3D models, for example, those rows don't appear. Each row shows a coloured icon, the kind's name, a count such as "12/12", a chevron and an eye toggle.
| Row | What the eye hides |
|---|---|
| Areas / Polygons | Every area |
| Circles | Every circle and circle grid |
| Markers | Every placed marker |
| 3D Models | Every placed 3D model |
| Stairs | Every staircase, lift and escalator |
| Doors | Every door |
| Image Planes | Every image plane |
| Text Labels | Every text label |
| Racks / Grids | Every rack |
| Floor Plans | The floor-plan images |
| Bins | The status colours painted on rack cells |
Walls and aisles have no row, so they can't be hidden from here. A hidden kind also stops blocking things behind it. Hide Floor Plans, for example, and markers on a lower floor are no longer hidden under the slab above.
Listing and zooming to shapes
Click a row's name (not its eye) to expand it. You get a list of every shape of that kind, by name, or "#id" when the shape has no name. The crosshair button next to each one (Zoom to item) flies the map to it.
Data-link layers
Below the shape kinds, every data link on the facility is listed, grouped under Sensors, Cameras, Assets or Other. The group comes from the layer's name:
| Group | The layer name contains |
|---|---|
| Sensors | "sensor" |
| Cameras | "camera" |
| Assets | "asset", "forklift" or "vehicle" |
| Other | None of these |
So a layer called Environmental sensors shows under Sensors, while layers called Staff or Equipment fall under Other. To move a layer to another group, rename it in the data-link editor. Each group header shows a count such as "4/4" and a Hide all / Show all link that switches every layer in the group at once.
What each data-link row shows
- Colour dot: the layer's default colour, so you can match the row to the map.
- Name: the data link's name.
- off badge: the layer is disabled, so it doesn't draw. The row is dimmed.
- Filter chip: the name of the saved filter the layer is showing, if any. You change it from the Filters pill.
- Chevron: click the row to list the layer's records.
- Eye: hide or show the layer for your visit.
- Power button: turn the layer on or off for everyone ("Enable layer" / "Disable layer").
Listing a data link's records
Click a data-link row to expand it. The first time, the Viewer loads the layer's records. Each record is named by the layer's label field (staff names for Staff on duty, for example) and has a Zoom to item crosshair.
| You see | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "Loading items..." | Records are being fetched. |
| "No items yet." | The layer has no records. |
| "Failed to load items." | The fetch failed. Collapse and expand the row to try again. |
