What the Facilities list is

Most of the time you edit one facility at a time, opened from the Facilities screen. The editor also has an all-facilities view that shows every facility’s shapes together. Open it from the command palette (⌘K / Ctrl+K, then Go to Layout Editor). Its facility pill reads "No facility selected".

Only in that view, the side panel has a Facilities section: one row per facility with its colour, name and rack count, plus Add facility and a delete button per row. With none yet it reads "No facilities yet. Create one to group your racks and assets."

  • The Facilities switch at the bottom of the toolbar’s Layers menu shows or hides the section.
  • Clicking the word Facilities in that menu opens the side panel, scrolls to the section and highlights it briefly.
  • The shortcut cheatsheet lists Z for Facilities; it doesn’t scroll to the section, so use the Layers menu.

Add a facility

  1. 1
    Click "Add facility"

The button turns into a small form.

  2. 2
Type a name and pick a colour

Type in "Facility name…" and choose a colour (indigo by default). Enter adds, Esc cancels.

  3. 3
    Click Add

The facility is created and appears in the list. Address, settings and share links are set on the Facilities screen.

Move shapes into a facility

  1. 1
    Select the shapes

Click, Shift-click, or drag with Marquee select (Q). See Select, move, rotate and scale shapes.

  2. 2
Click "Assign selection" in the toolbar

The badge shows how many shapes are selected. In Assign facility & floor plan, choose a Facility and, if you like, a Floor plan (or Unassign), then click Apply.

Delete a facility here

The trash button on a row asks "Delete “Acme Warehouse”? Its shapes are kept and become unassigned. Its data links, share links and data fields are deleted. This can’t be undone." Confirm with Delete facility.
