The detail drawer

Clicking something on the map that has data behind it slides a drawer in from the right (from the left in Arabic). It's the read-only partner of the editor's side panel. Instead of the shape's settings, it shows the data linked to it.

On a large screen the drawer is about 420–500 px wide, and on a phone it fills the screen. The map behind it is dimmed. Click the dimmed map, press Esc or click X to close it.

What opens it

You clickBadgeThe drawer shows
A markerMARKERThe data linked to the marker, or "No linked data for this marker."
An areaAREAThe data linked to the area, or "No linked data for this area." The map also zooms to the area and outlines it.
A point from a data link (staff, equipment, sensors, …)ASSETThe record's fields. If the data link is tied to one particular marker or area, that shape's drawer opens instead.
  • An area opens the drawer on click when its Tooltip section is set to Click in the editor. An area left on Hover shows a small popup first, and its View more button opens the drawer.
  • Racks, circles, walls, models, image planes, stairs, doors and text labels may show a hover popup, but they don't open the drawer.
  • A data point hidden behind a floor or wall can't be clicked.

The sections

Sections with nothing in them don't appear, so a record without pictures never shows an empty Media block.

SectionWhat's in it
PhotoThe first image found in the record, across the full width of the drawer.
SummaryA text block, if the data link has a template set for its content viewer. See Tooltip & detail panel.
MediaAny further images. Click one to open it in a new tab.
VideoVideo links, playable in the drawer.
DetailsBuilt-in fields when present: External code, SKU, Capacity, Status, Notes.
PropertiesThe other fields. For a data link, these are the fields picked in its detail-panel settings, in that order (an empty one shows "—"). If none are picked, every field is shown.
HistoryFor a record from a table: every change to that row. See Row history.
LinksOther web links in the record, each opening in a new tab.

Clusters open as a list

When a data link groups nearby points into a cluster, clicking the cluster opens the drawer as a list ("Cluster · N items"). Each row has a thumbnail when the record has an image, a title from the layer's label field, and a short line built from fields such as type, role, status or room.

  1. 1
    Click a cluster

The drawer opens with the layer name and the list of items.

  2. 2
    Click an item

The drawer switches to that record's details.

  3. 3
    Go back

Click Back to list (N) at the top to return to the list without closing the drawer.

Good to know

  • The map keeps updating behind the drawer.
  • Close the drawer before clicking something else on the map.
  • The drawer never offers editing. To change a record, use Tables or the source system.
