Indoor mapping and RFID tracking in Cairo and across Egypt

Egypt sits beside one of the world's busiest shipping lanes, makes medicines for one of the most populous markets in the region, sends citrus and fresh produce to buyers on several continents, and runs some of the largest malls and museums in the Middle East. Spatial Map turns the warehouses, cold stores, plants and multi-floor venues behind all of that into live 3D maps in the browser — in Arabic, English or French.

The Suez Canal Economic Zone and Egypt's ports

The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) groups industrial and logistics areas along the canal, with ports at Ain Sokhna on the Gulf of Suez and East Port Said on the Mediterranean, and it has become a focus for manufacturers and logistics companies setting up near the shipping lane. Alexandria, the country's historic Mediterranean gateway, and Port Said handle much of the rest of Egypt's container and general cargo, and the road links between the ports and Greater Cairo carry a steady flow of trucks.

For a port-side warehouse or a cross-dock in one of these zones, Spatial Map maps the dock doors, the yard slots, the gate and the weighbridge, and shows RFID-tagged pallets as your reader middleware reports them. The Eastport Cross-Dock demo shows that picture with 50 dock doors, 44 yard slots and 1,180 pallets; for a factory in the zone, the Summit Assembly demo maps lines, work in progress and 867 rack locations.

Pharmaceutical manufacturing and the Egyptian Drug Authority

Egypt has one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturing bases in the Middle East and Africa, supplying a large home market and exporting across the region. Plants and distributors work under the oversight of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA), and QA teams spend real time showing where products were stored and under which conditions.

Spatial Map does not certify anything and does not replace your validated monitoring system. It makes the evidence easy to read: cold rooms, freezers and controlled-ambient zones coloured by the readings from your sensors, quarantined and released pallets shown where they stand, and every change kept in the row history. The Polar Pharma demo shows a cold store and QC lab with 1,140 rack locations; your quality system stays the record.

Citrus, fresh produce and the export cold chain

Egypt is one of the world's leading exporters of oranges, and citrus sits alongside grapes, potatoes and other fresh produce in a large export trade. Between the farm and the container, the fruit passes through packhouses, pre-cooling rooms and cold stores where an hour at the wrong temperature costs shelf life.

On a Spatial Map floor plan, each pre-cooling tunnel, cold room and loading bay takes the colour of its latest reading, pallets waiting for a reefer container show at their dock door, and the History player replays how a room's temperature moved during a shift. Spatial Map shows the state; any alarming stays with your monitoring system. See the cold-chain solution.

Cairo's malls and the new cities east of the capital

Greater Cairo has some of the largest shopping malls in the region, and new urban developments east of the capital, including New Cairo and the New Administrative Capital, are adding malls, office towers and mixed-use districts. For a multi-floor retailer, Spatial Map draws every level with its escalators and lifts, shows RFID reads at the exits, colours departments by shelf stock and fridges by temperature, and places BLE-tagged trolleys and staff on the map, as in the Retail Mart demo with 85 RFID readers.

Office campuses in the new districts fit the same pattern: tagged equipment, meeting rooms and work orders on a three-floor plan, as the Harborview Campus demo shows.

Museums and visitor attractions

Egypt has opened some of the largest museum buildings in the world in recent years, the Grand Egyptian Museum near the Giza pyramids among them. Museums like these combine collection care with crowd operations: galleries that fill up, climate that has to stay within range around sensitive objects, and visitors who need to find their way across several floors.

The Production Museum demo maps three floors of galleries with visitor counters, climate sensors, RFID-tagged exhibits, BLE-tracked audio guides, CCTV and security posts. The Navigate button builds turn-by-turn walking routes around walls and through doors on each floor, also on read-only share links.

Arabic, English and French — and how we work

Many Egyptian teams work in Arabic and English, and some — often those educated in French-language schools or working with francophone partners — prefer French. The Spatial Map interface is available in all three, Arabic with a full right-to-left layout, as well as German, Spanish and Chinese; each user picks their own.

Spatial Map is sold online and our team works with customers remotely, by video call and through the contact form. For larger estates we scope floor-plan digitisation and integration as a fixed-price custom service, in Arabic, English or French.

How Spatial Map does it

From drawings to a live Egyptian site

  1. 01

    Import every level

Upload PDF or DWG (AutoCAD R2004–R2018) plans of the warehouse, plant, mall or museum and place them at real-world scale.

  2. 02

    Draw in 3D

Cold rooms, racks with bin locations, galleries, shops, doors, stairs, lifts and escalators, floor by floor.

  3. 03

    Connect the data

Sensor readings, RFID reads and stock arrive via the table write API, REST polling or CSV and Excel uploads.

  4. 04

    Operate and report

Live map, History player, reports exported to PDF or Excel, and read-only share links for clients and auditors.
