Sanray RFID reader integration: UHF and active RFID reads on a live floor plan

Spatial Map shows where your Sanray readers see tags, on a 3D map of the building. Sanray makes UHF RFID readers and modules, multi-port readers for external antennas, handheld and Bluetooth readers, and active 2.45 GHz readers and tags; we connect the readers you own through the SDK and interfaces Sanray documents, and post their reads to Spatial Map.

Spatial Map: no credit card for the trial, runs in the browser, Pro is $60/month for up to 4 facilities. Explore the live demo

What Sanray makes

From Sanray’s own website. Product details and current models are on sanrayrfid.com.

  • UHF RFID modules
  • Integrated fixed UHF RFID readers and desktop readers
  • Multi-port (4, 8 and 16 port) UHF RFID readers for external antennas
  • Handheld RFID readers and Bluetooth-interface RFID readers
  • Active 2.45 GHz RFID readers and tags

How we connect Sanray readers

Sanray’s product pages list an SDK and API for its readers, with serial, network and other interfaces depending on the model. The connector depends on the reader type:

  • Fixed and multi-port UHF readers — an edge service on the local network reads tag events through the reader’s SDK or interface, maps each antenna port to a door, zone or rack, and posts batched rows.
  • Active 2.45 GHz readers and tags — longer-range presence: the reader that hears a tag tells you the room or zone it is in, shown as zone presence on the map. Exact positions are not computed by Spatial Map.
  • Handheld and Bluetooth readers — paired with an Android app for counts, searches and audits, synced to your systems and to Spatial Map.
  • Your systems — tag IDs are joined to your item or asset register, so the map shows the asset, not just a number.

What you see in Spatial Map

Readers and antenna ports become markers and zones with their last read and read count; tagged assets sit in the zone or room that last saw them; offline readers stand out. History playback replays how a tag moved — see RFID asset tracking software and BLE asset tracking for room-level presence.

Sanray device types we integrate

Illustrations of device types, not Sanray product photos.

  • Fixed and multi-port UHF readers

Antenna ports mapped to doors, zones and racks through an edge service.

  • Active 2.45 GHz readers

Room or zone presence for active tags — the reader that hears a tag places it.

  • Handheld and Bluetooth readers

Counts and searches in an Android app, synced to the map.

  • Active and passive tags

Joined to your asset register so the map names the asset.

How it connects

Sanray readers to the map, step by step

  1. 01

    Sanray reader

Configured with Sanray’s own tools; antennas or zones named.

  2. 02

    Edge service

Reads tag events through the reader’s SDK or interface, filters and batches them.

  3. 03

    Spatial Map table

The connector posts rows to a table with the table write API: HTTPS, one bearer key per system, bulk upsert, 60 requests a minute per key — so it batches reads.

  4. 04

    Data link and map

A data link binds the table to markers, zones and racks: last read, counts, status colours and the History player for movement.

  5. 05

    Reports and sharing

Built-in reports and the report builder use the same rows; read-only share links give a site manager or client the live view.

What a Sanray project delivers

Reader connector

An edge service for your Sanray readers with antenna-to-zone mapping and duplicate filtering.

Asset register join

Tag IDs matched to your assets or items, kept in a Spatial Map table.

Live map and reports

Readers, zones and tagged assets on the 3D floor plan, with reports, playback and share links.

Sanray integration — frequently asked questions

No. Spatial Map is not affiliated with or endorsed by Sanray, and this is not an official Sanray integration. We integrate Sanray readers our clients own, using the SDK and interfaces Sanray documents.

Not in Spatial Map: it shows the room or zone the reader reports, or coordinates computed by a positioning engine you run. Adding a positioning engine can be part of a custom project.

No. The edge service runs on your local network next to the readers; only the batched rows go out to Spatial Map over HTTPS.
