Indoor mapping software for US distribution centers, venues and campuses

US operators rarely run one building. A 3PL has a network of distribution centers, a venue group has arenas and convention halls, a university has a campus of buildings. Spatial Map turns each building’s PDF or DWG plans into a multi-floor 3D digital twin in the browser, and keeps them all in one workspace you can roll out site by site.

No credit card. Runs in the browser. Pro is $60/month for up to 4 facilities. Book a demo

Plans in feet and inches, straight from your drawing set

US plan sets are drawn in imperial units, and Spatial Map reads them that way. Import a PDF sheet and pick the architectural scale — such as 1/8" = 1'-0" — or enter a known width; import a DWG (AutoCAD R2004 to R2018) and confirm feet or inches, choose the layers, and it is placed at true size. DXF files need to be saved as DWG or plotted to PDF first. The plan becomes a scaled picture you trace over: rooms and areas, racks with bin locations, walls, doors, stairs, lifts and escalators, aisles and routes. The general workflow is on our indoor mapping software page; this page is about how US teams use it.

Distribution centers and 3PL networks

In a distribution center, the twin is a live operations picture: rack locations colored from your WMS stock, dock doors and staging lanes, the trailer yard, forklift charging and quality hold. For 3PLs, the twin doubles as a client deliverable. A read-only share link gives a client the floors and layers you choose — their racks, their docks — with an expiry date and a view cap, without an account in your workspace. Solutions group facilities, reports and data by client or program inside one workspace.

Stadiums, airports and campuses

Venues and airports are multi-level, connected by stairs, lifts and escalators, and full of rooms that matter at different times: gates and security lanes, concourses and suites, halls and loading docks. Spatial Map models every level in 3D and binds turnstile scans, crowd counters, occupancy sensors and tagged equipment to it. The Navigate button builds turn-by-turn walking routes around walls and through doors — also on share links — which helps temporary event staff find their post; routes stay on one floor.

University and corporate campuses use the same twin for space and assets: labs, classrooms, meeting rooms, equipment stores and the instruments inside them, building by building.

Rolling out across many sites

Multi-site rollouts work best when the first building becomes the template: the same room names, rack conventions, data links and reports, repeated across the network. Pro covers up to 4 facilities for $60 a month or $600 a year. For a larger network, our team digitizes floor plans and wires up WMS, RFID, BLE or sensor data as a fixed-price custom service, with a proposal usually within three business days. The app interface is available in English and Spanish (plus German, French, Arabic and Chinese), so bilingual floor teams can each work in their own language.

  • One workspace, many buildings — every facility with its own floors, layers and data.
  • Same reports everywhere — eight built-in reports per facility plus your own, exported to PDF, Excel, CSV or JSON.
  • Roles per person — Owner, Admin, Editor and Viewer, with every workspace isolated.
How Spatial Map does it

From plan set to a network of twins

  1. 01

    Import the plan

Upload a PDF sheet with its architectural scale or a DWG in feet or inches.

  2. 02

    Draw the building

Trace rooms, racks, walls, doors, stairs, lifts and escalators on every level.

  3. 03

    Connect your data

Bind WMS, RFID, BLE or sensor rows via REST polling, file uploads or the table write API.

  4. 04

    Repeat and share

Reuse the setup for the next site and send clients or partners read-only links.

Indoor mapping in the USA — frequently asked questions

Yes. PDF sheets can use architectural scales such as 1/8" = 1'-0" or a known width, and DWG files (AutoCAD R2004 to R2018) are placed at true size once you confirm feet or inches. DXF needs to be saved as DWG or plotted to PDF first.

Yes. A read-only share link shows the floors and layers you choose, can expire and have a view cap, and can be revoked. The client opens it in a browser without an account.

Set up the first facility as a template, then repeat its room names, data links and reports for the next ones. Pro covers up to 4 facilities; larger networks are scoped as a fixed-price custom service.

Walking routes from the Navigate button go around walls and through doors on one floor, with turn-by-turn directions, also on share links. Stairs, lifts and escalators are modeled in 3D, but routes do not change floors.

Yes. The app is available in English, Spanish, German, French, Arabic and Chinese, and each user picks their own language.
